About Jasa

Jasamine sees the world as a tapestry of people, situations and ideas; either inherently woven together or separate threads to which she need only take her needle to connect them.

She is exceptionally skilled at seeing the way multiple concepts fit together and pinpointing where there’s a gap in knowledge, understanding, or resources.

As a writer, educator, and coach, Jasamine knows the value of context, connection, and flexibility in the learning process. You must know where you came from and the road you have taken before you can clearly see where you are headed, and you must be open to many detours if you want to reach a worthwhile destination.

A Chicago transplant from Philly, Jasamine has spent her 18+ year career supporting marginalized youth to develop their social-emotional needs as they become adults.

She is passionate about helping others discover their unique gifts and teaching them to hone those skills for success in life. Her goal is to provide you the tools to navigate life with more confidence, joy, and balance.

I use intuitive modalities to craft a map of your identity in the stories that form who you really be, to yourself, as well as publicly.

My work is based in a radical decolonial philosophy, breaking down barriers to power and gatekeeping of knowledge in order to reconnect us to intergenerational ancestral, indigenous, spiritual knowledge that can help heal our relationship to ourselves, our families, peers, communities, & the world, and nature itself.

More About Jasa

Deeply passionate about creating spaces where people can be their most authentic selves, Jasamine moves through the world committed to empathy and kindness.

As an advocate for youth, who will inherit the world we create for them, she always approaches her work with the central question of “How can we serve young people better?” This has led her to work alongside youth in many educational capacities.

She has directed and grown a mentoring program for college-bound foster youth, academically supported young people who stopped out of high school, taught and cared for preschool-age children, and connected one-on-one with high school students as a tutor, social-emotional learning coach, and mentor.

Jasamine has over 18 years of experience focusing on the developmental needs of young people from birth to age 24 years old. She is an expert on the ways that identity impacts learning and growth, and the ways that all systems across our society marginalize groups of people.

She completed her masters from Brown University with the goal of understanding how to build and replicate initiatives that support young people, and now works independently to equip young adults and professionals with the skills and resources to navigate adulthood.

Her own journey has taught her the impact of developing one’s social-emotional wellbeing, and growing social capital on one’s life, and she fights to provide similar opportunities for Black and brown individuals and communities.
